About

I come from a family of Architects and have worked in construction for thirty five years, starting out as a laborer and working my way through a carpentry apprenticeship to become a carpenter, a foreman, and a construction superintendent in residential and commercial construction. From there I moved on to project management in primarily commercial construction. I spent roughly half of my career in the field and half in management of construction projects. But, during my years in management I kept up my skills as a carpenter for the love of the trade doing side work for friends and acquaintances. Thus, I am personally trade skilled as a diverse, experienced carpenter with a passion for coming up with creative solutions to construction challenges.

As I move on, I have come to the conclusion that what I find most satisfying is doing the work and creating. I enjoy interacting with individual customers discovering what they dream and envision and bringing that to reality. Thus, with my wife, I have started Schoenhardt Construction and building services.

I enjoy renovation and historic restoration. I like keeping old things alive and working old salvaged building elements into homes. I am experienced with new buildings and additions as well. I personally built my own home.  I have experience in all phases of construction from field supervision and scheduling, personnel management and human resources. I am versed in proposals, estimating, conceptual pre-construction through close-out on diverse projects of new construction, renovation, and historical rehabilitation in colleges and universities, hospitals, schools, libraries, prisons, business offices, apartment complexes, churches, and homes. Finally, I have a designation as a design-build professional from the Design-Build Institute of America.
